When I think of getting a good gaming laptop, two brands usually come to mind: Alienware and MSI. (Sorry Razer, not today!) Today, I have picked out two laptops. The first one is the Alienware AW17R3-4175SLV. The second one is the MSI Ghost Pro. These computers are both around $2,000 USD each. So, without further ado, let us begin the comparison!
MSI: 15.6″ with a 4k display
MSI wins this round for better display. Although Alienware has a slightly bigger display, the MSI has a 4k display, which the Alienware doesn’t.
Alienware: 8.33 lb
MSI: 4.4 lb
Once again, MSI wins this round. The Alienware is almost 2x heavier than the MSI!
Alienware: Core i7 6700hq 2.6 GHz
MSI: Core i7 6700hq 2.6 GHz
Again, MSI wins this round! Just kidding, they have the same processor. Gotcha there, didn’t I?
Alienware: 16 GB DDR4
MSI: 16 GB SO-DIMM
I can’t really decide who this round goes to. They are both about the same. So, lets call this a draw.
Alienware: 1TB 7200 RPM
MSI: 1024 GB 7200 RPM
In case you aren’t aware… 1024 GB=1TB. So… draw (again?)
Alienware: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970M
MSI: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970M
I don’t even know anymore…
Alienware: Windows 10
MSI: Windows 10
Alienware: Regular keyboard with backlit keys
MSI: RAINBOW KEYS
MSI takes the round again.
MSI takes this one home! So before you buy the Alienware just because your friends told you it was good, check out the MSI Ghost Pro GS60.
